At the Double or Nothing PPV event, Mercedes Mone made her in-ring debut for AEW and successfully defeated Willow Nightingale to capture her first TBS Women's Championship. This was Mone's first match since last year at NJPW Resurgence where she suffered an unfortunate injury. Mercedes and Nightingale's match at Double or Nothing was reportedly the longest women's wrestling match in All Elite Wrestling.

On her Instagram account, Mercedes Mone shared a heartwarming post after winning the TBS Title. The Boss said that she feels good to be back and be a Champion:

Mercedes Mone recalls her conversation with Tony Khan before joining AEW

Former WWE Women's Champion Mercedes Mone made her shocking All Elite Wrestling debut at the Big Business Dynamite in Boston a couple of months ago. Many believed that Mone was heading back to the WWE.

Speaking at the post-Double or Nothing PPV media scrum, The former Sasha Banks revealed the conversation with Khan and how her debut came about:

"Me and Tony have been talking for... a very long time. So, people don’t even actually know when I got signed to AEW. The beginning of the year... we've talked, signed the deal, and made it happen, and we were really talking about when was the perfect place and time for me to debut in the ring. We knew March 13 was going to be amazing in the Boston Garden. When Tony called me, he said, 'I have the perfect place for you to debut - Boston, baby,'" Mercedes Mone. [From 44:05 - 44:43]

Mercedes Mone along with Trinity Fatu (Naomi) walked out on the WWE in 2022 after a creative dispute. Naomi returned to the WWE earlier this year during the Royal Rumble Match however, Mercedes Mone's return to the company seems unlikely as she is currently being positioned as a top star in the Jacksonville-based promotion.
