AEW recently added a former WWE Superstar and champion to its roster. Unfortunately, a controversial figure in the Tony Khan-led promotion wants the newly signed talent to leave. The stars in question are Shelton Benjamin and The Acclaimed's Max Caster.

Shelton Benjamin made his shocking All Elite Wrestling debut on the Five-Year-Anniversary edition of Dynamite, where he joined forces with his Hurt Syndicate stablemate MVP. This week on the Wednesday night show, The Gold Standard wrestled his first match in the company, taking on and successfully defeating Lio Rush.

Numerous fans on social media were in awe of the 49-year-old veteran's performance on Dynamite. After one X/Twitter user voiced their eagerness to see Shelton Benjamin compete against other stars from the All Elite roster, Max Caster responded to the tweet by emphatically declaring his desire to see The Standard of Excellence depart from the Jacksonville-based promotion.

"I want to see him LEAVE the company," wrote Caster.

The former AEW World Tag Team Champion has been outspoken about his opposition to free agents signing with All Elite Wrestling, arguing that it could lead to television time being taken away from homegrown stars. Whether Caster's social media outburst is meant to build up to a program involving The Hurt Syndicate and The Acclaimed remains to be seen, although the seeds for such a feud may have been planted this week on Dynamite.

AEW Dynamite may have teased Max Caster's heel turn

The October 16, 2024 episode of AEW Dynamite aired a backstage interview featuring The Acclaimed, who were asked about their future plans following their win over MxM at WrestleDream 2024. The two men would be interrupted by Shelton Benjamin and MVP, the latter of whom handed Max Caster a card and invited him and Anthony Bowens to give him a call whenever they were ready to "be serious."

Interestingly, Bowens was swift to reply in the negative, telling The Franchise Playa that The Acclaimed did not need anything from The Hurt Syndicate. Caster, on the other hand, was seen inserting MVP's business card into his pocket, suggesting that the self-proclaimed Best Wrestler Alive could be interested in considering the former WWE Superstar's offer.

It remains to be seen whether Max Caster will turn on Anthony Bowens and Billy Gunn to join The Hurt Syndicate or whether the newly arrived group will find homegrown rivals to face off against in The Acclaimed.
