A current AEW star has seemingly criticized WWE and pointed out that labels like ‘superstar’ were a stupid term. This might cause a stir with the fans of the Stamford-based promotion. The name in question is none other than Darby Allin.
Allin is one of the cornerstones of All Elite Wrestling and has been with the company since its inception. On top of being a great wrestler who leaves it all in the ring, he is also a very humble person.
He recently sat down with Renee Paquette and RJ City on AEW Meal & a Match when he pointed out that he prefers being someone with whom younger kids can relate. In the same answer, he also pointed out how the term 'superstar' was such a stupid term.
“That’s why, like with wrestling, I think being a spokesperson for the younger kids, they can see me and relate. I’m not just coming into AEW and be like, ‘Yo, everything’s perfect, I’m a superstar.’ Superstar is just such a stupid term. We’re like, ‘You’re down here, we’re up here, we’re superstars.’ I’m one of you who just made it, you know what I mean, and you can make it too.” [17:14 - 17:42]

"The thing with Brody is, like... I feel like this was his AEW coming-out party, to show what was he was capable of as a singles act. Because I feel like... He’s in The House of Black trios team, this is to me like, 'What can Brody King do by himself?' And I still feel like he’s so underrated in the grand scheme by far," Darby Allin said.
It will be interesting to see what Brody King will have to say about one of his biggest rivals after reading this.
