Giulia has officially arrived in WWE, but one AEW star was not impressed. The international star recently made her highly-anticipated debut, and while many fans are excited about her future, a top star is lashing out over how things were done.
The Glorious Warrior debuted for WWE at NXT No Mercy last weekend, confronting Roxanne Perez after she retained the Women's Championship over Jaida Parker. She then made her Tuesday night debut by interrupting Chelsea Green's rant at Perez. Giulia laid Green out and then challenged Perez to a match on October 1 for the NXT CW premiere.
Thunder Rosa thinks Giulia's WWE debut fell flat. The AEW star discussed the No Mercy segment on a recent episode of Busted Open and criticized WWE for how the debut was booked:
"Why the f**k are you going to introduce somebody with so much hype with nothing? No story, no video package, nothing. Also, this woman... the way that she presented herself in Stardom, she presented herself as a superstar. You introduce her, and it's freakin' PPV, PLE, whatever they call it now, in a very basic way, and a little bit watered down. That's not Giulia. Giulia is a superstar," Thunder Rosa said. Sources reported for months how WWE officials had major push plans for Giulia, which looks to be the case following her first two appearances. Rosa reiterated how the 30-year-old should be presented:
"You've got to introduce her properly, because she's about to go on top of the food chain. She's not going for a girl that's just starting and beating her a*s, she's going for a championship. This is something company's need to do with people coming in that have big hype: a big f*****g video package. Explain their story and hype, why they're signed and going for the championship. Explain that because if not, you're doing a disservice to the person coming in," Thunder Rosa said.
Giulia will make her official WWE in-ring debut on Tuesday's live episode. She will wrestle Chelsea Green in their first-ever match.
Thunder Rosa helped wrestler join WWE after AEW Dark
Thea Hail is currently a WWE NXT Superstar. She signed with the company in March 2022, but worked two AEW Dark matches the year before.
Hail was defeated by Thunder Rosa at the September 11, 2021, Dark tapings, in her first-ever match. She was then defeated by Julia Hart one month later at another set of Dark tapings.
Hail recently spoke with the Pittsburgh City Paper, and revealed how her father found her a wrestling school in The Steel City. This led to her AEW Dark matches, and later on, Rosa helped her get in touch with WWE:
"He found me a training school in Pittsburgh called the Stronghold Training Center, and then that was combined with the Iron City Wrestling Academy, and I trained at both of those schools. I ended up landing a Dark match for AEW after having a seminar with QT Marshall, and I wrestled Thunder Rosa, and she got me in contact with a recruiter from WWE," Thea Hail said.
Rosa has been with AEW since August 2020. The one-time Women's World Champion was scheduled to work a WWE referee tryout in 2019, but she passed on the opportunity due to other commitments.
