D-Von Dudley wasn't happy with a rising tag team's run in AEW. He claimed that this team would never return to Tony Khan's promotion.
Terrell and Terrence Hughes, known as TNT, have been turning heads on the indies with their performances. They have gained a lot of traction, and are the sons of D-Von Dudley. They even wrestled for AEW from 2020 to 2022. However, they were featured only on AEW Dark and never got a televised bout for the company, They also wrestled one match for ROH in 2023. But it looks like D-Von Dudley is not a fan of their run in AEW.
During an interview with Women's Wrestling Talk, D-Von Dudley didn't mince his words when he said that he didn't like their stint in AEW. He also said that they weren't used correctly just like so many other wrestlers in the company.
“They had a little stint in AEW and it didn’t really go well for them there. I didn’t like their little stint there either, I didn’t think they were being used correctly or used at all just like so many other talents in that company that’s not being used correctly,” he said. [H/T Ringside News]
D-Von Dudley wants his sons to join NXT
NXT has proven to be a successful breeding ground for future WWE stars. Over the years, NXT has produced several top stars like Carmelo Hayes, Trick Williams, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins. Hence. it should come as no surprise that D-Von wants his sons to try out for the black and silver brand.
During the same interview, the WWE legend said he wanted his sons to leave AEW and go to NXT and that's what they're trying to do now. He also expressed his happiness that Terrell and Terrence have started a new chapter in their career.
“I wanted them to get out, I wanted them to go to NXT and try to get their feet wet there. That’s what we’re doing right now with them. It’s one of those things where I was happy they were able to leave that part of their life and their wrestling career and go start a new chapter.” [H/T Ringside News]
