Darby Allin is all set to clash against Jon Moxley next week at AEW Grand Slam 2024. However, the former TNT Champion will collide with a formidable opponent days ahead of his bout with The Purveyor of Violence.

Jon Moxley shocked All Elite Wrestling fans with his horrifying assault on his long-time stable-mate Bryan Danielson at All Out 2024. He had also for some time been calling out Darby Allin for a chat on Dynamite - a conversation which finally took place on the September 11, 2024, episode of the Wednesday-night show.

After being reprimanded by Allin for turning on Danielson, Mox informed the 31-year-old star that his AEW World Championship match scheduled for Grand Slam 2024 - which he had earned earlier this year - would not take place because Bryan was "indisposed." He then demanded that Allin hand over his World Title shot to him, which the latter refused, prompting him and Moxley to agree to a singles match at Grand Slam to determine the number one contender for the All Elite Wrestling World Championship.

Days ahead of Darby Allin's imminent war with Jon Moxley in the Arthur Ashe Stadium, it was announced by AEW on X/Twitter that the former AEW World Tag Team Champion would be in action against Evil Uno of The Dark Order this Saturday on Collision.

Darby Allin had another encounter with Jon Moxley this week on AEW Dynamite

Jon Moxley and his new alliance were attacked by Private Party and Komander this week on Dynamite in retaliation for being previously ambushed by the group. However, the re-formed BCC easily dealt with the up-and-coming stars, with Moxley going so far as to smash Isiah Kassidy's hand with a hammer.

Suddenly, Darby Allin arrived to disrupt the proceedings, laying out Claudio Castagnoli with his skateboard before facing off with Moxley in the ring. He took a swing at the former world champion with his board, but the latter ducked and left the ring. Allin went on to declare that he was going to "run through" Moxley at Grand Slam, and then head to WrestleDream 2024 to challenge for and win the All Elite Wrestling World Title.

It remains to be seen whether Darby Allin can defeat Jon Moxley next week in New York City.
