We are just hours away from AEW WrestleDream 2024, and the results of tonight's pay-per-view could shake the foundations of All Elite Wrestling. Unfortunately, one of the promotion's top acts won't be attending the show tonight, and the reason lies outside the world of wrestling.
FTR has been one of the most important tag teams in AEW history. Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler have often waved the flag for the promotion and represented it as champions and top stars. However, Dax recently saw his hometown devastated by Hurricane Helene, and he and fellow AEW star Adam Copeland are currently helping to clean up the damage.
Harwood and Copeland both live in Asheville, North Carolina, which saw extreme winds and heavy flooding due to Hurricane Helene late last month. The Rated-R Superstar has reportedly been helping FEMA recover bodies from the wreckage, while Dax has been raising money and helping those most affected by the disaster.
Dax Harwood took to X (fka Twitter) today to reveal that he wished FTR could be at WrestleDream tonight, but there is still work to be done in Asheville:
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
"I wish we could be there for this one, but there’s still a little work to be done at home. Enjoy #AEWWrestleDream See y’all soon," wrote Dax.
AEW stars Dax Harwood and Adam Copeland ask fans for help after devastating hurricane
WWE Hall of Famer Adam Copeland (fka Edge) quickly bonded with FTR after he joined All Elite Wrestling last year. The men formed a trio called Rated-FTR, but the bond they share goes beyond the wrestling ring.
Dax Harwood and Adam Copeland are currently doing everything they can to help their city of Asheville, NC, recover from Hurricane Helene. The two made a plea to fans in an emotional video last week:
Many fans think that Copeland might return tonight at WrestleDream in Tacoma, WA. The Rated-R Superstar has been on the shelf since fracturing his tibia at Double or Nothing in May. Fans will have to tune in tonight to find out if the former TNT Champion will be back in action.
