Adam Copeland returned to AEW programming after months of being on the shelf. After choosing Death Riders as his target, The Rated-R Superstar received a surprising jab from one of its top soldiers, Claudio Castagnoli.
The WWE Hall of Famer made his monumental comeback at AEW Worlds End following a hiatus from an ankle injury a few months ago. He immediately targeted the current World Champion, Jon Moxley, and his allies from The Death Riders.
In doing so, Copeland recruited his friends and popular tag team, FTR. The trio battled The Death Riders at the AEW Dynamite: Fight for the Fallen, with Cope and his tag team partners emerging victorious over Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, and Claudio Castagnoli.
While Moxley and his side lost the match, Castagnoli made a surprising comment about Adam Copeland. He posted a photo on his Instagram of the duo facing off with a shocking jab despite being on the losing end.

"Not coping well."
What are Adam Copeland's plans upon his AEW return?
During the same match, Adam Copeland underwent a shocking name change that left the fans stunned. As Justin Roberts made his ring announcement, he referred to him as The Rated-R Superstar "Cope." This was to possibly signal the start of a fresh run in the company.
As mentioned, Copeland has missed months of action since suffering an ankle injury at Double or Nothing in his match against Malakai Black in May 2024. As a result, he was forced to vacate his TNT Championship and undergo extensive rehabilitation to get back in the ring.
Cope made it clear upon his return at Worlds End pay-per-view that he was coming after Jon Moxley. This was because Moxley holds the AEW World Championship, which Adam Copeland now has his sights set on.
With Copeland and his team scoring the first win against The Death Riders, he has gained momentum in his quest to become AEW World Champion. So, it will be interesting to see if Tony Khan would book this title match for a major show in 2025.
