Dustin Rhodes has seemingly confirmed that he has formed a new tag team with a controversial top AEW star. The latter is none other than Sammy Guevara.
The Spanish God was suspended from the Jacksonville-based promotion for not following appropriate concussion protocols during his No DQ match against Jeff Hardy earlier this year. Guevara recently made his comeback in ROH, saving Dustin Rhodes from an assault at the hands of The Dark Order.
Sammy sought out an alliance with The Natural on the August 3, 2024, edition of AEW Collision, which led to a tag bout pitting Rhodes and Guevara against Alex Reynolds and John Silver of The Dark Order on a recent episode of ROH on HonorClub.
Dustin, alongside the former TNT Champion, emerged victorious in their bout against Reynolds and Silver. Taking to X/Twitter, Rhodes seemingly confirmed his intention of tagging with Sammy Guevara. He heaped praise on the former JAS member and predicted that the two men would make a successful team.
The 55-year-old also stated that he and Guevara needed a name for their tag team.
"Thank you @sammyguevara We good. I look forward to this union of Texas Boys together. The world has missd you and I know first hand what you are capable of and you, I. Both together and we can be unstoppable. #RoH #AEW I think we need a team name," wrote Dustin.

AEW's Dustin Rhodes wants to be involved in a recently announced stipulation match
AEW has a number of heated rivalries currently playing out in its women's division. One of them is the feud between Deonna Purrazzo and Thunder Rosa, a feud that turned bitter after La Mera Mera defeated the former Knockouts World Champion on Rampage in April.
The two women faced each other on three more occasions—at the Buy-In pre-show for Double or Nothing 2024, on the one-year anniversary episode of Collision in a No DQ bout, and once again on the Saturday-night show last month in a Lumberjack match. Purrazzo came out on top in all three encounters, often using rather underhanded means.
After defeating Taya Valkyrie on last week's AEW Collision, Thunder Rosa challenged Deonna Purrazzo to face her again in a Texas Bull Rope match. The bout was eventually made official and elicited a response from Dustin Rhodes, who requested Tony Khan to nominate him as the special guest referee for the match.
"Special referee? @TonyKhan," Rhodes tweeted.

It remains to be seen if the violent stipulation match will finally settle things between Rosa and Purrazzo in All Elite Wrestling.
