AEW star Dustin Rhodes (FKA Goldust) has just shared a heartfelt message to the late Afa Anoa'i. The WWE icon passed away earlier today.
The Hall of Famer was one-half of the Wild Samoans, along with his brother Sika, who recently passed away. Sika was the father of current WWE Superstar Roman Reigns. The news of Afa's passing was delivered by his son Samu Anoa'i via a post on Facebook.
On X/Twitter, Dustin Rhodes shared his condolences and talked about how great a man Afa Anoa'i was. There was a shared history between both wrestling families, as his father, Dusty, had faced off against the Wild Samoans on several occasions in the 1980s.
"RIP #AFA! What a great man he was," Rhodes tweeted.

Roman Reigns has shared a message following the passing of his uncle Afa Anoa'i
A few hours after the news of Afa Anoa'i's passing, Roman Reigns broke his silence on his uncle's death.
He confirmed the news and thanked everyone for their support. He then shared how Afa and Sika bonded as biological brothers and as one of the most iconic tag teams of their era.
"Our family has suffered another great loss with the passing of my uncle and WWE Hall of Famer, Gataivasā Afa Amituana'i Anoa'i. We thank everyone for their support and are comforted by the fact that he now rests in peace. Afa and my father, Pola’ivao Leati Sika Anoa’I were loving brothers, the greatest tag team of their generation, and now they’re reunited together in heaven," he wrote.
Many regard the Wild Samoans as one of the more influential tag teams of their era. Their legacy lives on forever as the next generation of Samoans takes over the industry. With several members of their clan now trying their hand in the industry, many can expect a long lineage of Samoan wrestlers for decades.
We at Sportskeeda offer our condolences and best wishes to the Anoa'i Family.
