Former 24/7 Champion EC3 believes a top AEW star should have been portrayed as a major player during his WWE run. The star in question is none other than Shelton Benjamin.
The Gold Standard was one of the most undervalued stars in the Ruthless Aggression Era. Benjamin held the United States, Intercontinental, and Tag Team Gold in WWE but many believe that he should have been a World Champion. He was released from the Stamford-based promotion last year and recently made his debut in AEW where he is a part of The Hurt Syndicate with MVP and Bobby Lashley.
Speaking in the recent edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling’s The Wrestling Outlaws podcast, EC3 spoke about Shelton Benjamin’s presentation in All Elite Wrestling. He claimed that Benjamin should have been a top guy from the start:
"I think with what him, Shelton, Bobby have done in AEW, like you can see MVP's business insight kind of in what they're doing. Like Shelton always and should always been a top guy. It was kind of his run in AEW, like he's finally been able to be built up as one because it's kind of a fresh start for him. Same thing with Bobby, like they're very protective of what they are and who their brand is. And I think that's cool." [From 02:0 to 02:35]

The Hurt Syndicate recently arrived in AEW
Bobby Lashley and MVP shockingly left WWE earlier this year. It resulted in MVP and Shelton Benjamin’s All Elite Wrestling debut where both stars teased the arrival of Lashley. The All Mighty completed the reunion of The Hurt Syndicate after a shocking debut at Fright Night Dynamite.
Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin have competed in some great matches since their debut and All Elite Wrestling has been very protective in their booking. Many veterans have also advised Tony Khan to book the faction strong and even suggested making Lashley a World Champion.
The fans will have to wait and see if Tony Khan is successful in booking The Hurt Syndicate as a main event-level group.
