Former AEW Continental Champion Eddie Kingston recently made some funny comments about one of his co-wrestlers in the Jacksonville-based promotion. The star being discussed here is former FTW Champion Ricky Starks.

A few hours ago, on May 17, 2024, the Jacksonville-based company launched a new non-wrestling show on YouTube. The name of the show is AEW Meal And a Match. RJ City and Renne Paquette are the hosts of the show. Eddie Kingston appeared as the guest on the first episode of the show.

During the show, all three AEW stars watched a Dynamite segment from 2020, featuring Darby Allin vs. Ricky Starks, while munching on tasty meals. Eddie was asked to share some comments about the two talented stars.

Here's what the inaugural Continental Champion said about Ricky Starks:

"He's too pretty for me, Ricky! I don't know whether to take him out on a date or fight him."

Eddie Kingston suffers a broken leg

Last weekend, The Mad King defended his NJPW Strong Openweight Championship against Gabe Kidd in a No Rope Last Man Standing Match at NJPW Resurgence. Kingston ended up losing the encounter.

Later, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that he had suffered a broken foot.

"Eddie Kingston suffered what was believed to have been a broken leg on the 5/11 New Japan show in Ontario, CA. On 5/13, they [AEW] found out the leg was broken and had to change around Dynamite and the main event for AEW Double or Nothing," the report stated.

It will be interesting to see how Kingston fares from this latest setback. Meanwhile, his replacement, Darby Allin, will join Dax Harwood, Cash Wheeler, and Bryan Danielson to take on Jack Perry, The Young Bucks (Nicholas and Matthew Jackson), and Kazuchika Okada in the Anarchy in The Arena Match at Double or Nothing.

The marquee pay-per-view will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada, on May 26, 2024.
