WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff expressed his shock after the revelation that a former WWE star is being paid $5 million a year by Tony Khan in AEW. Bischoff also commented on Khan's budget management.

The former WWE star in question is the current TBS Champion Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks). It was recently reported that Mone is currently the highest-paid female star in the world, as Tony Khan is reportedly paying her $5 million a year as per her current AEW contract.

The WWE Hall of Famer, Eric Bischoff recently shared his thoughts on how Tony Khan uses his talent budget in AEW while speaking on the Keepin' It 100 podcast. Bischoff also reflected on Mercedes making $5 million a year and having creative control:

“According to Dave Meltzer, and you’ve got to be careful, but I’m using it as a reference because I just saw it the other day, Tony Khan has a talent budget that’s over $100 million. Guys are making $100,000 a year, and 75% of the people on that roster feel like they’re in the witness protection program. Half of them, you see them only once every six months. If you look at his talent budget and his expenses, I mean, look at Mercedes Mone, $5 million a year. Are you kidding me? And giving her creative control?" [H/T: Ringside News]

Eric Bischoff says a monkey could book better than Tony Khan

Eric Bischoff has mostly been critical of Tony Khan as an AEW booker. The former WCW producer took a huge shot at Khan claiming that he could teach a monkey to book better than Khan:

"When it comes to Tony Khan giving talent creative control, it’s probably not such a bad thing because anybody can do a better job than Tony Khan, right? You could give me a case of bananas and a young monkey, I could teach that monkey to be a better booker than Tony Khan.” [H/T: Ringside News]

Moreover, Bischoff has been on AEW TV back in 2020 on an episode of Dynamite. Only time will tell if he will ever sort things out with Tony Khan and appear in AEW again.
