Rising star Shota Umino was trained by Jon Moxley. But he has now chosen to stand up against his mentor.

In an interview with Tokyo Sports, Umino criticized Moxley and disapproved of the path the AEW World Champion had taken in the Jacksonville-based promotion. He also challenged him to a match soon.

In response to his comments, The Purveyor of Violence inferiorized Shooter and promised to send an emissary to Tokyo Dome at Wrestle Dynasty.

"Shooter, Shooter, my man, you have made a mistake. A grave mistake. You've travelled down a dark path, a dark way of thinking, and I'm not mad, I'm just very disappointed. Let's go back to our first principles - we don't care what anybody thinks, we don't care what anybody says. What are you reading, what are you listening to, what's gotten inside your head? We're gonna continue your education, and I will send an emissary to the Tokyo Dome to fix this problem you're having. And we'll continue moulding you into the champion that I know you can be."

Mox's disrespectful response aggravated The Roughneck which led to the latter insulting his mentor during the Fighting Spirit Unleashed 2024 event.

Jon Moxley is currently busy dealing with Orange Cassidy

Orange Cassidy has opposed Jon Moxley amidst the AEW World Champion's war with AEW. This decision was a result of his desire to take revenge on the champ for breaking his best friend, Chuck Taylor's neck, a few weeks ago.

Cassidy and Allin partnered to take on Claudio Castganoli and PAC this week on Dynamite. Wheeler Yuta and Marina Shafir interfered and caused the match to end via disqualification.

The Death Riders continued to attack the babyfaces but Mark Briscoe and The Conglomeration came out for the save which caused the heels to retreat. The erstwhile Dean Ambrose and The Freshley Squeezed Star are scheduled to face each other at AEW Full Gear for the AEW World Championship.
