Several wrestling fans are of the opinion that Ricochet will make his AEW debut and be revealed as a WWE legend's mystery opponent on the upcoming episode of Dynamite. The Human Highlight Reel recently finished up his tenure in the Stamford-based promotion.
On the June 26, 2024, episode of Dynamite, The Young Bucks revealed that The Elite planned to introduce an associate of their own as the wild card participant in the 2024 Men's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. The entrant in question, the EVPs claimed, will win the entire tournament and proceed to challenge for the AEW World Championship at All In 2024.
The official X/Twitter account of AEW recently posted a graphic promoting the upcoming July 3, 2024, special Beach Break edition of the Wednesday-night show, which will feature WWE and wrestling legend Jeff Jarrett taking on the aforementioned wild card participant in a quarterfinal bout for the Owen Hart Cup.

Fans rushed to X/Twitter to share their speculations regarding the identity of the mystery entrant. Although Hangman Page was the obvious choice as the wild card entry for many, a significant number of users believe that the mystery opponent will turn out to be former WWE Superstar Ricochet.
The star recently exited the Triple H-led promotion, and it was reported by Fightful recently that the former Intercontinental Champion's contract with the sports entertainment juggernaut has expired. Furthermore, the report claimed that Ricochet is expected to join AEW, fuelling speculations even further.
"I once thought that could be hangman but now I think this can be Ricochet," wrote a fan.
"Ricochet hopefully," wrote another fan.
"Ricochet!!!" tweeted a user.
"Ricooooooooochet," wrote another user.
"Ricochet," tweeted another fan.
One user conjectured that the mystery participant would be either Ricochet or Hangman Page, although they also brought up the likelihood of the wild card turning out to be Donovan Dijak, who also recently departed from WWE.
"It's either Ricochet or Hangman imo. It could be Dijak I guess, but probably won't be," tweeted the user.
It remains to be seen whether and when Ricochet arrives in All Elite Wrestling.
A former AEW World Champion could return on Dynamite this week
While fans continue to speculate on the identity of Jeff Jarrett's opponent for the quarter-final bout of the 2024 Owen Hart Tournament, one of the most likely candidates for The Elite's wild card pick is Hangman Adam Page.
According to recent reports from Fightful Select, The Anxious Millennial Cowboy is gearing up to make his return to AEW after having taken some time off after his last showing at Revolution 2024 owing to contractual obligations and personal reasons.
Interestingly, Page's inclusion in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament had reportedly been discussed in the company. Furthermore, a vignette teasing the comeback of the former AEW World Champion was aired on Collision last week.
It remains to be seen whether Hangman Page will square off against Jeff Jarrett on Dynamite this week.
