Following some recent back-and-forth exchanges between AEW and WWE, a certain source believes that Tony Khan may not grant Miro his release if he wishes to jump ship when granted.

Two weeks ago, the Bulgarian Brute requested his release from the company. His ex-wife, CJ Perry (FKA Lana), is also not affiliated with the promotion following her brief stint with them. As of writing, the reasons for his request have not been disclosed.

During an exclusive Live Q&A with WrestleVotes conducted by Joe Lowry, Miro's topic was brought up. The journalist believed that due to recent circumstances, this would not be granted to him. He felt that Khan would not just grant one of his stars the ability to walk away and sign with the competition that easily.

"Umm no, I don't... Over the last what's it been, a month or so, we've got three occurrences where they're not playing nice towards each other. With Lucha Brothers stuff is what it is, and then the Nigel footage that they showed, and WWE decided to take it down, and now Miro, you know. If I'm Tony Khan and Miro says to me, 'I don't wanna be here anymore,' you know, I'll simply tell him, 'You signed a contract, I can't under good faith just let you walk to the competition.'" What is the latest update regarding Miro's request?

The former TNT Champion has not been seen since December, which initially prompted questions regarding his status.

However, it seems that even the former WWE Superstar is not satisfied with his situation, hence the request for a release. According to a recent report from Sean Ross Sapp during Fightful Select's Q&A Podcast, he mentioned that there has been no update on the situation and whether he was granted the release or not.

“I haven’t heard that he has gotten it as of yet. I have been given no indication that he got that release even though he asked for it."

It seems that both sides have not resolved things, as it was also reported that the former WWE Superstar turned down some creative ideas thrown this way. It remains to be seen how the situation ends up going.
