A former AEW champion has spoken out for the first time after his shocking return on Dynamite this week. The star in question is none other than Powerhouse Hobbs.
Hobbs has been out of action since April after sustaining an injury during his match against Jon Moxley. He has been out and recovering since then. He posts updates on his recovery from time to time.
Last night on AEW Dynamite, Hobbs returned as Ricochet’s mystery partner. They won the main event against Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher. After the match, the former TNT Champion sent a message on Twitter/X.
“ITS GOOD TO BE BACK!” he wrote.

Powerhouse Hobbs believes AEW lost a leader in Bryan Danielson
Bryan Danielson retired from full-time wrestling after losing at WrestleDream, where he lost his world title to Jon Moxley. His absence is hugely felt, and Powerhouse Hobbs says the same.
The returning star spoke to In The Kliq and said the company was losing a leader with Bryan's retirement.
"I look at pro wrestling as like the NFL, anything can happen on any given Sunday," Hobbs said. "For pro wrestling, anything can happen on any given day. It was a shocker, the aftermath was a shocker. Personally, thank you Bryan for everything you've done for pro wrestling and AEW, but things happened. Definitely, we're losing a leader, someone who's took a lot of wrestlers under his wing, so I think we'll be missing some leadership, but we have a lot of individuals that will definitely step up in that place," he said.
Hobbs will hope to emulate his idol as he is now fully back in action following his long injury sabbatical.
