A former performer in AEW officially signed a WWE ID contract, the new program introduced by the Stamford-based promotion. The new program is in partnership with multiple independent wrestling schools.

The former AEW performer in question is Ice Williams of Lights Camera Faction. Williams kicked off his wrestling career in 2019 on the independent scene. He is currently a regular performer in the WWE Hall of Famer, Booker T's promotion, Reality of Wrestling, which he joined in 2022. Ice Williams also performed in All Elite Wrestling last year.

On an episode of AEW Dark: Elevation in 2023, Ice Williams, alongside his stablemates Braxton and Watson, competed in a six-man tag match against Ethan Page, Isiah Kassidy, and Matt Hardy of The Firm. Williams also performed in Tony Khan-owned Ring of Honor earlier this year against The Outrunners.

Meanwhile, Ice Williams officially signed up for the new WWE ID program. Booker T at Reality of Wrestling personally handed Williams the contract, and he officially signed it in the ring to become the new recruit of the program. Williams has become one of the many talents to be ID'd by the Stamford-based promotion.

Report on what if AEW goes after the WWE ID recruit

Fans on the internet have been wondering what would happen if Tony Khan were to go after a talent who has been ID'd by the WWE. Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio recently, Bryan Alvarez noted that the ID'd talent would have to tell the Stamford-based promotion before signing with All Elite Wrestling or other promotions.

"If you're under this deal, it's essentially, if you get an offer from AEW, and you're under one of these deals, you do have to tell WWE first, and they have the right to say, 'Okay, well, we want to sign you to a deal and send you to NXT', or they can say, 'Go for it, take the offer, we're not interested.'"

Moreover, only time will tell the implications of the WWE ID program on Tony Khan's promotion.
