Former AEW star Marko Stunt has officially announced his retirement from in-ring competition. The fan-favorite was last seen in action in July 2024.
Mr. Fun Size took to X/Twitter earlier today to reveal that he had decided to hang up his boots owing to considerations regarding his long-term health priorities following discussions with his doctor. The 28-year-old star confessed that the decision was a difficult one, and proceeded to reflect on his experiences in the professional wrestling industry.
"Today, I write this with a heavy yet grateful heart as I announce my retirement from professional wrestling. This decision was not an easy one, as wrestling has been the biggest part of my life for so long, filled with moments that have shaped who I am today. It has been an incredible journey - one full of passion, sweat, tears, and unrivaled joy."
Stunt conveyed his gratitude to All Elite Wrestling for the platform the Tony Khan-led company provided him and showered heartfelt words on personnel and talent from the promotion. He also thanked Brett Lauderdale for showcasing him, and for enabling him to craft his identity as a wrestler in Game Changer Wrestling (GCW).

"First and foremost, I want to express my deepest gratitude to All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Thank you for giving me the chance to showcase my abilities and share my passion with fans around the world. Being able to wrestle on national television was a dream I could hardly have imagined when I first stepped into this business, and it was AEW that made that dream come true."
Stunt went on to similarly address his in-ring peers, as well as his fans and supporters. He also asserted that wrestling would continue to be a part of his life despite his retirement and that he hoped to be able to "continue contributing" to the sport.

Marko Stunt had a Jurassic Express reunion in his last AEW appearance
Almost two years after being released by All Elite Wrestling in 2022, Marko Stunt returned to the Jacksonville-based promotion in July this year answering Jack Perry's TNT Championship Open Challenge on AEW Collision. The Scapegoat defeated his former Jurassic Express stablemate dominantly to retain his championship.
In a backstage segment after the match, Stunt would also have a brief reunion with Killswitch, formerly known as Luchasaurus, from the Jurassic Express. The latter unfortunately had to be hospitalized a few weeks ago and is currently recovering from complications arising from pneumonia in his lungs.
Sportskeeda Wrestling wishes Marko Stunt the best on his retirement and also wishes Killswitch a speedy and safe recovery.
