Former AEW star has slammed Tony Khan for burying a major promotion a couple of years ago. The star in question is none other than Matt Hardy.

The partnership between TNA (fka IMPACT Wrestling) and AEW was intact from 2020 to early 2021. The deal saw many talents from both promotions crossover like Kenny Omega, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, Christian Cage, and more. The Cleaner even went on to hold both IMPACT and TNA World Heavyweight Championship simultaneously during the partnership.

Speaking on his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt Hardy spoke about the importance of putting over the opposition while discussing the partnership of TNA and AEW a couple of years ago.

"Tony [Khan] would do those paid ads where he would pay for the ads and just say AEW is so much better than TNA and this and that. I mean it is fine if that's the approach you wanted to do. It's absolutely fine. But I also come from a place where if you're gonna compete against someone, if it's an opponent in the ring, at some point you need to put them over so that they look credible and they could beat you. Or if they do beat you, you don't just talk about how awful they are."

The former United States Champion continued:

"I just feel like it's important to put over your opposition to a degree so they seem somewhat on the same level especially if you're doing it back and forth. Tony [Khan] chose an opposite route and that's fine. I mean it was something different and maybe it worked at the time. You know, where he would talk about how much AEW was better than TNA." Former AEW star Matt Hardy recently spoke about Uncle Howdy's segment from last week's WWE RAW

The Wyatt Sicks storyline took an interesting turn on the most recent episode of WWE RAW where Bo Dallas was seemingly being interviewed by his alter ego, Uncle Howdy. The segment has been praised by many veterans including Matt Hardy who had nothing but positive comments. Here is what the former AEW star said on his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast:

"Watching Taylor, watching Bo Dallas answer, he was so believable, he was so good, it felt so real probably because it is real. And I'd imagine it was one of those things that was difficult. It was a difficult thing to film, it added so much equity into him [Bo] doing this for his brother [Bray]," he said.

This past week's RAW saw only Sister Abigail (Nikki Cross) and Uncle Howdy appear from The Wyatt Sicks. It will be interesting to see if other members appear next week.
