A former AEW star commented on Cody Rhodes and other stars getting into a brawl with a dominant faction on WWE SmackDown tonight. The star being discussed is Joey Janela.
The Bad Boy joined AEW in 2019 and was one of the many first signings. After not getting a major push in the company, he left the promotion in 2022.
The American Nightmare has been feuding with The Bloodline for a couple of years now. Currently, Solo Sikoa is after the Undisputed WWE Champion. However, Kevin Owens and Randy Orton have joined Cody Rhodes in their quest to take The Bloodline down at Money in the Bank.
On the opening segment of the blue brand show tonight, as Solo Sikoa and company made their way to the ring, they were ambushed by the trio of Kevin, Cody, and Randy. To stop them, a number of security guards were sent to the ring, to no avail.
Following the segment, Joey Janela took to Twitter and said that security guards were the best future wrestlers.
"Security guards make the best wrestlers of the future," he wrote.
For those who don't know, WWE often uses the younger wrestlers who have been training in performance centers as security guards. Many huge stars, such as LA Knight, Bron Breakker, and many others, have been noted in 'security guard' roles in WWE and went on to become top stars in the promotion.
AEW star RVD would like to face Cody Rhodes
Rob Van Dam was a top high-flyer in WWE and has been showcasing his skills in AEW as well. He has been in the promotion for over 10 months and has wrestled a handful of matches.
Speaking on his 1 of A Kind podcast, Mr. PPV said he would like to square off with Cody Rhodes and that he respected him.
"Absolutely. Absolutely, I would love to. I like Cody. I respect him, and I would definitely, definitely be up for that. Absolutely."
It will be interesting to see if Joey Janela would ever return to AEW in the future.
