Former AEW Women's Champion, Thunder Rosa just shared a heartbreaking update. She last competed against Taya Valkyria on Collision earlier this month.
When Thunder Rosa first signed with AEW, she had an impressive start on the roster. Within a short time of joining the company, she captured the AEW Women's World Championship. Unfortunately, her run ended abruptly as she had to relinquish her title due to injury.
During her time away from the ring, she focused on her own promotion, Mission Pro Wrestling. The promotion is known for producing several female stars such as WWE's Wren Sinclair and Roxanne Perez. However, she has now come out to deliver some heartbreaking news about Mission Pro Wrestling.
The promotion announced on social media that the company would be going on hiatus following its upcoming August 17, 2024 show, "Midsummer Blast" in San Antonio. They didn't announce when they would return but mentioned that there would be no more shows for the remainder of the year. Rosa took to social media to repost this message from her promotion.

Thunder Rosa helped Thea Hail sign with WWE
Thea Hail is now a well-known name in WWE. However, before joining the Stamford-based promotion, she wrestled Thunder Rosa on AEW Dark. The former Women's World Champion then helped her sign with WWE.
During a recent interview with Pittsburgh City Paper, Hail narrated how she got her start in wrestling. She said her father helped her to join the business, which eventually got her a match on AEW Dark. This resulted in Rosa putting her in contact with a WWE recruiter.
“He found me a training school in Pittsburgh called the Stronghold Training Center, and then that was combined with the Iron City Wrestling Academy, and I trained at both of those schools. I ended up landing a dark [non-televised] match for AEW after having a seminar with QT Marshall, and I wrestled Thunder Rosa, and she got me in contact with a recruiter from WWE,” she said. Thea Hail recently challenged Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women's Championship but came up short. It bears watching what her future holds in the developmental brand in the coming months.
