Mercedes Moné became a two-title holder at Forbidden Door III (Image credits: AEW Facebook)
While AEW Forbidden Door III had quite a few standout moments, a particular return caught fans by surprise. Former AEW Women's World Champion Britt Baker made her long awaited return to throw down the gauntlet to Mercedes Moné.

Mercedes had one of the best women's division matches ever seen in Tony Khan's promotion at Forbidden Door, going up against Stephanie Vaquer with both the AEW TBS Championship and NJPW Strong Women's Championship on the line. Considering the stakes, it was no surprise that they fought tooth and nail for the win. In the end, Mercedes was able to pick up the win with a submission move.
The biggest moment of Mercedes' screentime came after the match, however, as Britt Baker's music hit and she walked out with confidence. Baker looked to be in the best shape of her life, silently staring down the newly crowned champion.

Baker's last match had her unsuccesfully challenging for the TBS Title back in September last year, after which she left the active scene stating that she was following the fans' wishes. With the former world champion now seemingly back in action, it remains to be seen what she plans to do next to regain her place in the upper echelons of the roster.
