A former AEW World Champion made his long-awaited in-ring return to Dynamite in a triumphant way. This certainly took a lot out of him, but he got there in the end.
The star in question is none other than MJF. He took on Rush in a hard-hitting match tonight on Dynamite, and it seemed like he had to dig in deep to get the win. Maxwell surprised the entire world when he made his sudden return at Double or Nothing a few weeks back to take out Adam Cole.
Rush has been on his case ever since, and the two finally came head to head tonight. The match started off in classic MJF fashion as he did not waste any time getting into his stride and even taunted Rush with the iconic Ric Flair strut.
Rush did not take kindly to that and struck back immediately. MJF was hit hard and the match even went outside the ring to make matters worse for him. However, despite the struggles, he got into the match and hit the Mexican star with his finisher to take the win.
It was an unconvincing win for the former AEW World Champion but it was understandable, as he likely has to deal with ring rust. Friedman's last match occurred at the AEW Worlds End pay-per-view back in December.
