A popular star believes Miro will return to WWE amid recent rumors of him requesting his release from AEW. EC3 also spoke about how the lack of success Miro enjoyed with his Rusev Day gimmick in the global juggernaut was 'disheartening" to see.

A few days back, reports about the former TNT Champion wanting to leave All Elite Wrestling following months of absence took over the wrestling world. While there's no update on whether he will be granted his release from the company, fans have already begun speculating about a potential WWE return for Miro down the line.

On a recent edition of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws podcast, EC3 also mentioned that he could see the AEW star return to his former stomping ground. He pointed out that The Redeemer likely made great money in AEW and that he was financially secure enough to take his career in the direction he wanted it to.

"Yeah, I can see a WWE return. I don't know if it's on the cusp or asking for your release. He made a bunch of money; he didn't really work a ton at the end of the day. You've self-sustained with Twitch and all these other things. It's great to have that freedom, where if you're unhappy, you're like 'I'm out. Let me go,'" said EC3. (3:20 - 3:46)

EC3 was disappointed with how Miro's Rusev Day gimmick fared in WWE

Furthermore, EC3 discussed how the AEW star's uber-popular Rusev Day gimmick seemingly didn't succeed in WWE. The former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion explained that sometimes the creative teams were guilty of not pushing talent that had gotten over by themselves without their support. He cited the example of Matt Cardona to explain his opinion.

"When Rusev started, it was one of those self-created things, self-professed, a lot like Matt Cardona getting over on his own. Sometimes for some reason, if the system sees you getting over and it's not because of their choice or their idea, they would hamper it and they would not let it reach where it can go. It's kind of disheartening," added EC3. (4:02 - 4:30)

Miro last wrestled in December 2023 at the AEW Worlds End pay-per-view, where he defeated Andrade, who later left for WWE.
