A former Intercontinental Champion just claimed that he was responsible for AEW's existence. He recently debuted for Tony Khan's promotion.
Ricochet has made a name for himself due to his high-flying abilities. He was a massive star in the Indies before he signed with WWE in 2018. He wrestled for the Stamford-based promotion for several years. However, after a year of poor booking, he finally left the company and joined All Elite Wrestling where he has been on an impressive run.
The former WWE star recently appeared on 1035 KISSFM where he said that there would be no All Elite Wrestling without Ricochet. He also said that the company wouldn't exist without the likes of The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and Will Ospreay but at the same time, he said that there would be no Ospreay without him:
"I’m not saying that I am the sole reason, I’m just saying, if there wasn’t Ricochet, there would not be AEW. I’m not saying it’s just me, it’s the Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, it’s Ospreay, it’s everybody. But I’m just saying, without Ricochet, there’d be no Ospreay, you know what I’m saying?"

Ricochet wants to be the AEW Champion
It's clear that Ricochet came to All Elite Wrestling with a clear goal in mind and he has been working hard to achieve it. He earned himself an International Championship against Konosuke Takeshita at Full Gear. He is now part of the Continental Classic and has the chance to win his first title in the company. But he has much bigger aspirations in mind.
During a recent interview with Fightful's Iridian Fierro for WGN Radio 720, the former WWE star said he wants to become a champion in the Jacksonville-based promotion. He tried to win the International Championship but came up short. He said he also wants to win the AEW Championship and the Tag Team Championship:
“What I want to accomplish is just continue to build the resume for Ricochet, continue to give the people you know something fun to watch. Obviously, I came to AEW, I want to be champion. I wanted to be the International Champion. That didn’t happen… yet, but it will. I want to win the Continental Classic. I want to be the AEW Champion. I want to be the Tag Team Champion. Obviously, those are goals that I think every wrestler needs to have.”
It will be interesting to see if Ricochet will be able to accomplish those goals in All Elite Wrestling.
