A WWE veteran's recent arrival in AEW drew Teddy Long's attention to the Jacksonville-based promotion. The star being discussed is none other than Bobby Lashley.
The All Mighty is one of the biggest AEW attractions right now. In a very short amount of time, Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and MVP have created a much-needed buzz around the Tony Khan-owned promotion. Since debuting at Fright Night Dynamite, Lashley has been presented as a top star.
The former WWE Champion has already proven himself as a massive draw during his time in the Stamford-based promotion. It only makes sense that many of his fans would have tuned into Dynamite to watch him perform. The WWE Hall of Famer recently commented on Bobby Lashley's jump to AEW.
While speaking on Sportskeeda's Wrestling Time Machine with Mac Davis, Teddy Long claimed that he wasn't an avid watcher of the Jacksonville-based promotion's shows. However, The Hurt Syndicate's arrival in AEW made him curious about how the promotion would book them.
"I don't watch it. I started looking at a little bit of it when Bobby Lashley, MVP, and Shelton went. I wanted to kinda look into how they were gonna use them. And congratulations to them right now for doing the right thing and I just hope things work out for them. And I hope they get used right," he said. [02:08 - 02:27]
Bill Apter believes AEW should turn Bobby Lashley into a 'superhuman'
Bobby Lashley was presented as a powerhouse in WWE and is currently showcased as an untouchable force in the Tony Khan-owned promotion too.
While speaking on another episode of The Wrestling Time Machine, veteran journalist Bill Apter stated that Tony Khan should book The All Mighty as a 'superhuman character' if they wanted to improve their rating situation.
"If they don't make Bobby Lashley into a superhuman character that he is, and that the fans want to see, I don't know what they're gonna do to increase their viewership because right now, it's a very level-off kinda bland situation," he said.
It will be interesting to see what is next for Bobby Lashley after he recently defeated Swerve Strickland at Full Gear.
