A former WWE champion has subtly teased a heel turn for the first time in AEW. This will no doubt surprise a lot of his fans.
There are a lot of stars who have jumped ship, but the one teasing a heel turn here is Ricochet. The high flyer joined AEW amid much fanfare at All In and has since gone on to climb up the company ranks slowly.
He has had mixed success so far, and he recently revealed that he could resort to using underhand tactics to get wins, given what most of the stars in AEW are doing. The former WWE star was giving an interview with Barstool’s Rasslin podcast when he said:
“Uh, you know, obviously yes. You do [think about doing those things]. In the moment, the goodness comes out and you’re like, ‘I can’t do it, I just can’t do it.’ But definitely you have those thoughts, you have those dark thoughts all the time because it’s like, man, why do I always gotta be the one to take the high road, why do I always gotta be the one to not push the boundaries a little bit."

He continued:
"The older you get, the less that [comes up] and the more you kind of do start thinking, maybe I need to do what I need to do to get to where I want to get to just like everybody else has been doing. They don’t mind it. So maybe, it does start to creep in there, maybe I do need to start.” (H/T Fightful)
Former WWE star Ricochet wants to be AEW Champion
Former WWE star Ricochet is a very talented wrestler who moved to AEW after not being given proper opportunities in his previous company.
He recently spoke about his ambitions and said that he wants to become AEW World Champion. Ricochet was speaking to Fightful’s Iridan Fierro for WGN Radio 720 when he said:
“What I want to accomplish is just continue to build the resume for Ricochet, continue to give the people you know something fun to watch. Obviously, I came to AEW, I want to be champion. I wanted to be the International Champion. That didn’t happen yet, but it will. I want to win the Continental Classic. I want to be the AEW Champion. I want to be the Tag Team Champion. Obviously, those are goals that I think every wrestler needs to have.”
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the former WWE star.
