Former WWE Diva Maria Kanellis recently provided a concerning update on her health on social media. The update in question pertained to her recent pheochromocytoma diagnosis.
The First Lady of Wrestling has been battling with the effects of what doctors suspect to be pheochromocytoma - a neuroendocrine tumor growing from the cells found in the adrenal gland - for some time now. Earlier this month, she had disclosed that she was scheduled for surgery in October.
In a recent Instagram reel, the former WWE Superstar shared an update on her present health condition. Kanellis revealed, among other things, that her heart rate medication has been doubled, causing her to suffer from exhaustion and lethargy. She further stated that she has been advised to perform only light workouts as a precaution against a possible stroke or heart attack.
"I have been getting results back from my doctor, and things are starting to become a little more clear. Got more thyroid results back to see how my thyroid levels were, they're normal, within normal range, so it's a really good sign. My pararthyroid is high and my heart rate wasn't coming down, so they actually had to double my heart rate medication, which is a beta blocker, which makes me feel really lethargic and really tired all the time. And I was also told that I could only do light workouts moving forward just because of the fear of a stroke or having a heart attack, which yes, very scary. So, I'm just trying to remain positive."

Maria Kanellis fired back against comments suggesting she wants to return to WWE
During a recent interview, Maria Kanellis, who has been appearing in AEW since 2022, reflected on dealing with feelings of unfulfillment with her career at present and how that could weigh on future considerations. When a fan on X/Twitter misread her remarks and construed them as her expressing a desire to return to WWE, the All Elite/ROH personality responded by firing back against the user's comment and providing context on her statements in the interview.
“Babes, it’s totally okay for someone to soul search at different points in their career. I never said I wanted to go anywhere. I am questioning where/if I belong. Read/listen to the interview before passing judgement. I am going back to school, I might have cancer, and I have two children. It makes you pray and meditate a lot. I hope I always take stock and make adjustments in my life,” Maria Kanellis wrote.
Sportskeeda Wrestling wishes Maria Kanellis a very healthy recovery from her ongoing health issues.
