A popular former WWE Superstar was spotted making his ROH debut tonight as he competed against a top AEW star during this week's tapings for the weekly episodes of Ring of Honor. This would be Sidney Akeem (fka SCRYPTS).

Two months ago, Akeem left WWE after his contract was not renewed by the Stamford-based promotion. He was known for his time as Reggie, who worked as the sommelier for Carmella. After he was fired by her, he lent his services to other members of the women's division.

Eventually, he became more of a comedic relief on the promotion, taking part in the chaos surrounding the WWE 24/7 Championship. During his last few years with the company, he rebranded himself as the masked competitor, SCRYPTS, in NXT.

Tonight, at the ROH Tapings, he made his debut against Johnny TV (fka John Morrison). As mentioned by those in attendance, he was unsuccessful in his campaign against the AEW star and ended up losing in his debut.

It remains to be seen whether this was only a one-off appearance for Sidney Akeem or if Tony Khan decides to offer him a contract, allowing him to appear on both AEW and ROH shows in the future.
