Bryan Danielson went to war against Jeff Jarrett on AEW Dynamite in an Anything Goes match as part of his preparation for what could be his retirement match at All In. They were also joined by a special guest.
This would be WWE legend Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat. He was in attendance for this match and sat by the commentary desk throughout it. This was the former Intercontinental Championship's first appearance since Revolution back in March, when he served as the special guest timekeeper for Sting's retirement match.
During tonight's edition of Dynamite, right as Bryan Danielson was making his entrance, he was hit in the back with a guitar by Jarrett, starting the match abruptly.

The action spilled backstage and to other parts of the arena. Eventually, they made their way back to the ring, where the fight continued. Bryan Danielson then hit Jarrett with a Busaiku Knee using a steel chair to secure the win.
After the match, Swerve Strickland came out and had some words for The American Dragon. He claimed that if Danielson had a hard time with Jeff Jarrett, it would be much harder when he faces him at All In. Swerve then challenged Wheeler Yuta to a match next week as he, too, wanted a warmup match before the pay-per-view.
The animosity between both men just seems to increase, with less than three weeks to go till their bout at the upcoming pay-per-view.
