A former WWE name and current New Japan Pro-Wrestling star recently announced his return for the upcoming Forbidden Door Pay-Per-View. He also seemingly challenged AEW star Orange Cassidy at the event as well.
The former WWE name in question is Zack Sabre Jr. Zack performed in the Stamford-based promotion in 2016 when he participated in the Cruiserweight Classic tournament. Sabre Jr. has made multiple appearances in AEW in the past and had several dream matches as well.
The last time Zack Sabre Jr. was seen in AEW was at the WrestleDream 2023 Pay-Per-View, where he was defeated by former WWE Superstar Bryan Danielson, formerly known as Daniel Bryan. Meanwhile, Zack teased his return with a vignette on the latest episode of Collision. The NJPW star seemingly challenged Orange Cassidy for a match at the Forbidden Door 2024 Pay-Per-View in the vignette as well.
Moreover, Zack Sabre Jr. already has a history with Orange Cassidy. The two collided at the Forbidden Door 2023 Pay-Per-View in a Four-way match, with Daniel Garcia and Katsuyori Shibata also involved.
Cassidy secured the win in the multi-man match by pinning Zack in the end. Henceforth, only time will tell if the former AEW International Champion responds to Sabre Jr.'s challenge after taking notice of the same.
