The sixth installment of AEW Double or Nothing is already in the history books, but wrestling fans are still reeling from its fallout. Trent Beretta, who was part of WWE from 2007-13 during his early years, had a rough outing on All Elite Wrestling's fifth anniversary this past weekend.
At Double or Nothing in Las Vegas, Trent Beretta faced his frenemy, Orange Cassidy, in a rematch from the May 8, 2024, episode of Dynamite. The two went back and forth in a barnburner bout, where Beretta lost to Cassidy for the second consecutive time. Following the contest, Rocky Romero and Renee Paquette tried to catch up with the former WWE star on his way out.
In a video on X/Twitter, the 37-year-old AEW star could be heard saying, "I'm not doing this. I'm done," before storming off, seemingly implying that he might have quit All Elite Wrestling (in kayfabe).
Beretta recently turned heel on Best Friends after he and Cassidy failed to advance into the AEW World Tag Team Championship tournament.
He beat Chuck Taylor in a parking lot match on Rampage, which was possibly the latter's final bout of his career.
The Freshly Squeezed had the last laugh as he defeated Trent Beretta on multiple occasions. It would be interesting to see whether a rubber match is in the cards for the former friends.
