A former WWE champion has just made his return to AEW after more than eight months tonight on Rampage where he was in tag team action. The former star in question would be Metalik (fka Gran Metalik).

The luchador, aside from being known for his time in Mexico and Japan, had a brief stint in WWE. He was a finalist in the Cruiserweight Classic tournament and would go on to have a great run as a member of the Lucha House Party. He even became the WWE 24/7 Champion at one point, but he would eventually depart the company in 2021.

Tonight, he competed in his first match in the Jacksonville-based promotion since October 7th. Metalik was in tag team action alongside Kommander as they faced Private Party.

He was involved in some controversy during his last appearance in the promotion as one of his matches was reportedly cancelled due to him not wanting to take a loss. He ended up denying all claims made against him.

Tonight, it was a great showing from the luchador duo, but after a intense high-flying encounter between the four athletes, Private Party ended up hitting Gin and Juice for the win.

After the match, Kassidy and Quen were met by The Learning Tree down the ramp, and they engaged in a brawl with them. It seems that tensions between both sides continue to boil over.
