Ricochet was soundly beaten by Kazuchika Okada in the Continental Classic semi-finals. Hence, Okada would defend his title against Will Ospreay later on in the show. As for The Human Highlight Reel, he was left embarrassed in the middle of the ring.
While The Future of Flight was still recovering from the shock of his loss, out came ex-WWE star Swerve Strickland. The former AEW World Champion arrived with Prince Nana and cut a promo on how embarrassed he was for Ricochet following the setback.

At The Realest's orders, the spectators threw rolls of toilet paper at the former WWE star as he was standing in the middle of the ring with an embarrassed look on his face. It will be interesting to see whether Ricochet will fully embrace his heel persona now.
