A former WWE star recently revealed that their contract with AEW is expiring this month. The name in question is Maria Kanellis.
The 42-year-old worked in the Stamford-based promotion for around nine years. She joined the Tony Khan-led All Elite Wrestling in October 2022 and also makes appearances for Ring of Honor.
Kanellis has been out of action for a while due to health issues. A few hours ago, she took to her Instagram account to share a health update. She also commented on her future with the Jacksonville-based company.
In the video, Kanellis revealed that her deal with All Elite Wrestling would end in October. The former WWE star added that she approached the organization's higher-ups to discuss her contract situation but hadn't heard from them yet.

In the same Instagram video, Maria Kanellis addressed her current health condition. The former 24/7 Champion said she had a mass on her adrenal gland and would undergo surgery soon. Kanellis added that she was trying to stay positive.
"Update!! Don’t know if it’s cancer. Dont know if it’s genetic. Don’t know if I will be working for AEW. I have zero answers, but I have this stick and it will make my kids happy," she wrote in the caption.
A while ago, Kanellis disclosed her scheduled surgery was postponed as she had to take medications first.
