Former WWE United States Champion vows to “chop down” Chris Jericho’s Learning Tree

A former WWE United States Champion has vowed to chop down Chris Jericho’s Learning Tree in what could be seen as a clear challenge.

The name in question is none other than Ricochet. Ricochet is a former United States Champion and recently made his AEW debut at the All In event. He showed up for the Casino Gauntlet match and sent the Wembley crowd into a frenzy.

The former WWE star has now laid down a marker and called out Chris Jericho with a clear jibe at him. He was a guest on the Masked Man Show when he said:

“So me and the Danielsons and the Swerves and the PACs, before it was Ospreay and Ricochet, it was PAC and Ricochet. We were the ones lighting up the internet. Then again the Kyle Fletchers, even the Private Party, both of them, Top Flight, both of them, Darby Allin, there’s so many guys, I could go on and on. Really guys that I have wrestled and haven’t. Chris Jericho, I’ve never been in there with Chris Jericho, that’s a guy. He’s the Learning Tree, maybe I’ll chop down that tree.” [H/T Fightful]

Former WWE star Ricochet thanks Will Ospreay

Former WWE star Ricochet has a storied history with Will Ospreay. The two stars both made their name on the independent scene and then went their separate ways.

Ever since reports started circulating of Ricochet’s WWE exit, Ospreay was openly advocating for him to move to AEW. He has now thanked the Englishman for doing just that. He was speaking with CBS Sports when he said:

“To see him so verbally advocate for me is awesome. I think for a long time Ricochet hasn’t had the opportunity to advocate for himself so it was really cool to have my homie do that for me."

It is only a matter of time before the two stars come head to head in AEW and it will be great to see them turn back the clock.
