Tony Khan has made AEW one of the emerging companies in professional wrestling. His contributions to the business have earned the praise of many, including a long-time veteran who previously worked for him.
During a recent appearance on the Five Star Podcast, 16-time World Champion Ric Flair heaped massive praise on Tony Khan. The legend worked for the Jacksonville-based company until the summer of 2024. However, his Wooooo! Energy drinks are the official drink of AEW.
Although he is no longer formally associated with the company, Ric Flair has maintained his friendship with the AEW President. The Nature Boy remains very close to Tony Khan, calling him one of the greatest human beings he has ever met.
"We're very close. I think he's one of the greatest, not just great promoter, I think he's one of the greatest people, human beings I've ever met. He is very caring and genuine guy. He's got more money than God. I bought time on a jet — Tony's got a jet, probably several," Flair said. [H/T: Wrestling Inc]

Will Tony Khan let Ric Flair have his final match in AEW?
In the same interview, Ric Flair discussed potentially having one more match. He last wrestled in 2022 alongside his son-in-law, Andrade El Idolo, against Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett. Despite having a heart attack during that bout, The Dirtiest Player in the Game claimed he still has one more match left after expressing interest in an in-ring comeback earlier.
However, he also added that it would not happen in AEW. The moment Tony Khan found out about Ric Flair being on blood thinners, he was against the idea of him getting in the ring.
"Once Tony found out I was on blood thinners, he wouldn't let me get in the ring," Flair recalled. [H/T: Wrestling Inc]
Ric Flair has also denied appearing in the upcoming AEW Collision episode on January 4 after initial speculation hinted at his return. Regardless, he has maintained good relations with Khan, which may lead to a special appearance in the future.
