Weeks ahead of All In 2024, FTR found themselves involved in a massive brawl that needed to be broken up by security on AEW Dynamite. The stars they clashed against were none other than The Acclaimed.
The August 7, 2024, edition of AEW Dynamite featured a blockbuster six-person tag team match, pitting RUSH, The Beast Mortos, and Roderick Strong of The Undisputed Kingdom against FTR and Orange Cassidy. The babyface trio emerged victorious after El Toro Blanco was pinned following an Orange Punch from Cassidy and a Shatter Machine from Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler.
After the match, The Acclaimed made their way down to the ring, although Max Caster would find his microphone disabled, preventing him from speaking up. Harwood grabbed a mic himself and voiced his respect for Caster and Anthony Bowens and their achievements in the Tony Khan-led promotion, but suggested that the tension between the two teams go beyond AEW.
Eventually, Dax the Axe invited Caster and Bowens to break through the wall of security separating them and bring the fight to him and Wheeler. The Acclaimed accepted Harwood's challenge and that sparked off a brawl with FTR, which would eventually be broken up by security and officials. This followed their confrontation on Collision this past week when Caster and Bowens called out The Top Guys for supposedly trying to cut ahead in line for a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Titles currently held by The Young Bucks.
It remains to be seen whether FTR and The Acclaimed will face off to determine the next challengers for Matthew and Nicholas Jackson, possibly at All In 2024, even though the latter lost an Eliminator Match to Caster and Bowens some time back.
