At tonight's Money in the Bank premium live event, John Cena shockingly announced that he would retire from in-ring competition in 2025. This caught the entire wrestling world by surprise.
He was introduced to the crowd by WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus and he came out with a rather glum look on his face. The fans were not ready for what he was about to announce. There was a hush in the arena when he spoke.
As that was happening in the arena, fans on social media were having a field day with messages linking him with a move to AEW. A lot of fans clamored for Cena to make the jump to Tony Khan’s company and said that it is the place where he ought to have his final sendoff.
Despite all that, John Cena moving to AEW is highly unlikely and next to impossible given that he is such a household name in WWE. It will be interesting to see what the immediate future holds for the leader of the Cenation as he looks forward to bidding farewell at WrestleMania 41.

Omos wants to fight John Cena
As soon as John Cena announced his retirement, it had a domino effect not only on the fans but also on his fellow superstars.
One of the stars who had something to say about the announcement was Omos. The giant, who is mainly on the periphery these days, has called out Cena on X and implied that he wants to fight him in a retirement match.
He wrote:
"GIVE ME CENA!!!!"
Omos is no stranger to fighting big men, having competed against the likes of Brock Lesnar in the past, albeit in a losing effort. Whether or not Cena responds to the challenge put forward by the Nigerian Giant remains to be seen, but it is an interesting development nonetheless.
