AEW has signed several former WWE Superstars over the years, and while some have found major success with Tony Khan's company, others have floundered. A former World Heavyweight Champion has controversially left AEW, and now Dutch Mantell is revealing an interesting observation after dealing with the man himself.
Jake Hager recently left All Elite Wrestling after almost five years with the company. The former Jack Swagger of WWE debuted on the Dynamite premiere, and was mostly aligned with Chris Jericho. Hager recently praised Y2J for helping him, while alleging that Tony Khan did not want him there. These remarks came after Hager labeled the son of a billionaire as a communist following his departure.
Hager never held gold while with AEW, and won around 40% of his sixty-plus matches with the company. On a recent episode of Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the former Zeb Colter was asked about his good friend dishing on his former employer. Dutch revealed what he'd hear back after reaching out to Hager during his All Elite run. His co-host pointed to how AEW didn't do much with Hager, and Dutch agreed:
"Not at all. I actually talked to him a few times when he was in AEW, and I asked him, 'When are they going to do something except just have you show up every now and then behind those other guys or whatever?' And he never had an answer for me, so apparently they didn't tell him either," Dutch Mantell said. [From 50:25 to 50:50]

Hager has continued to work indies since leaving the Jacksonville-based promotion. His last match for the company was a loss to Roderick Strong on Rampage in late February.
