Good Ol' JR is undoubtedly one of the most iconic commentators in the history of pro wrestling. His illustrious career has spanned over four decades and has seen him work in promotions like WCW, WWE, and NJPW. He is currently signed with AEW, lending his services as an announcer on pay-per-view events while making sporadic appearances on the company's TV shows.

Jim Ross was featured in a taped interview with AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland on the August 7, 2024 edition of Dynamite. The veteran announcer discussed The New Flavor's imminent Title vs. Career match against Bryan Danielson at All In 2024.

Although numerous fans enjoyed Ross' appearance on the Wednesday Night Show, some were concerned for the 72-year-old personality, specifically regarding the latter's health.

A user recently took to X/Twitter to share a clip from Jim Ross' conversation with Swerve Strickland. The user expressed concern over the former's physical well-being based on his somewhat incoherent and slurred speech during the interview.

Most users reacted to the tweet seemingly in agreement with the original poster, pointing out the weight Ross has apparently lost and sharing their apprehensions regarding his health.

While one fan argued that JR does what he loves regardless of his physical condition, most other responses proposed that Ross should be encouraged to retire from announcement duties.

Jim Ross has been plagued with various kinds of health issues for some time now. As recently as 2021, he had a brush with skin cancer, although he announced that he was cancer-free in December that year. He also underwent hip surgery in 2024 and had to make an ER visit in May over shortness of breath.

Jim Ross' presence at AEW All In 2024 is not guaranteed yet

Jim Ross recently provided an update on whether he will appear at AEW's upcoming pay-per-view, All In 2024.

Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast in July, the Hall of Famer revealed that he intends to attend the event in London, albeit implying that his attendance is not yet guaranteed.

“It makes me feel good to know that people still give a s**t, because I d**n sure give a s**t. I hope to be in London. It’s not a guarantee yet, but it’s something that I’m shooting for … Last year, I worked a couple of matches, that was plenty, so we’ll see how it works out this time. Tony Khan’s been extremely fair with me, and I want to be extremely fair with him,” he said.

It remains to be seen whether the WWE Hall of Famer will voice the action at AEW All In 2024 at Wembley Stadium.
