AEW has already signed quite a number of new stars to their promotion but notably secured Jay White after major speculation that he was WWE bound. However, some fans now believe that his handling by the Jacksonville-based promotion has been poor.
Jay White is best known for his lengthy tenure in NJPW, where he eventually became the leader of The Bullet Club. Across his career, he has only held gold in the Japanese-based promotion but was notably its First NJPW Grand Slam Champion.
Twitter user @SlappadaBRO_WWE recently took to the social media app to proclaim that the AEW crowd had no reaction to The Switchblade and boldly claimed that his booking has been terrible so far.
In light of the speculation, some fans voiced that they believe Jay White's run in AEW has already failed and that this is something that Vince McMahon likely predicted in some way.

However, several fans criticized the Twitter user's opinion and instead defended The Switchblade's handling by the promotion. Some also pointed out that the user wasn't in attendance during White's return and therefore had no idea what the audience felt.
Dutch Mantell recently addressed speculation that White somehow missed out on an opportunity in WWE. According to the veteran, he wouldn't have fared any better by going to the Stamford-based promotion as he would likely have just gotten lost in the shuffle like so many others already have.

Konnan believes AEW has done a poor job in portraying Jay White as a star
Tony Khan has already signed eight new stars halfway into 2023, and it seems like some are already getting lost in the shuffle, according to some fans. However, Konnan believes the issue lies elsewhere.
During an episode of the Keepin' It 100 podcast, Konnan explained why he believes that Khan has missed the mark with White and some of the other stars he signed.
"He doesn't come off like a star and the problem is that Tony [Khan] has painted himself into a corner. You know when you watch these shows like 'Cribs' and sh*t like that and the guy has got like 50 cars and you're like, 'Okay, when do you find time to drive them? Do you drive one every day, what's the deal here?'" (H/T Wrestling Inc.)
It remains to be seen if Jay White will become as big a star in AEW as he was in NJPW. Until he gets involved in a major feud with top talent, fans will simply have to wait with bated breath.
