"He’s coming to WWE" - Fans react after rumors of AEW star rejecting major storyline in Tony Khan's promotion surface

A report that came out earlier today revealed details regarding a scrapped feud between two top AEW stars. Fans have reacted to this and many have wanted one of them to leave the Tony Khan led promotion and go on over to WWE, where they thought Triple H could book him better. This would be Ricky Starks and Big Bill.

The two formed a partnership in August last year, and they even went on to become tag team champions. After they dropped the titles, they were not seen on television for some time, until they had one final match and that was the last the fans saw of them. Big Bill is now affiliated with Chris Jericho and The Learning Tree.

Earlier today, Fightful Select reported on Ricky Starks' status after rumors of an legal issues he had last year were being speculated. They also brushed up on his current situation within the company. It was reported that Starks had turned down the pitch for a feud between him and Big Bill. He reportedly felt that this would not do any good for them, and he would rather have a peaceful split between them.

Fans believed that with his shaky booking within AEW, there could be a chance he would leave to go to WWE. One fan even wondered whether the situation would lead the promotion to release him.

Another fan brought up how AEW should let Ricky Starks go to WWE, seeing as there is a big chance they can bring in Ricochet. This could be even be like a trade between the two promotions. Other fans weighed in on the situation and took Starks' side, saying that it was like he was looking out for Big Bill and did not want anyone getting the short end of the stick.

"WWE should trade Ricochet to AEW for Starks. Then everyone can be happy. Starks can slot into Ricochet's spot. And less drama all around," one fan claimed.

"If this is true, then Ricky was correct," another said.

There has been speculation that Ricky Starks' AEW return is imminent

Almost three weeks ago, Xero News, a fan account, teased on X/Twitter that The Absolute star could be making his return to the promotion. They also hinted that he could have a gimmick change.

He was last seen competing in the promotion in March alongside Big Bill as part of the AEW World Tag Team Championship tournament. However, due to an injury scare, they had to bow out earlier than expected from the tournament.

With it currently being Forbidden Door season, there may not be any room for Starks just as yet on the match card, but he could make his return during the fallout for the event, and re-introduce himself to the fans.
