WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry recently commented on Vince McMahon's current state of affairs. The veteran claimed that the former WWE Chairman was ''going through a tough time,'' amid legal battles. Notably, McMahon resigned from his post earlier this year after former employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against him.
Henry had a decorated career in the Sports Entertainment juggernaut in the Vince McMahon-led regime. The World's Strongest Man departed the promotion on good terms in 2021. He later joined AEW as a commentator and coach. The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion parted ways with Tony Khan's company earlier this year.
During a recent appearance on the Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw podcast, Mark revealed that Vince McMahon was going through turbulent times. Henry previously faced criticism for his positive comments on the former WWE Chairman, and the veteran acknowledged the same during the interaction.
“He’s [Vince McMahon] going through a tough time and all of the stuff that happened recently and stuff. I never saw none of that. I never heard no negativity [sic] like that. Him [sic] playing a d**n joke on me was the worst of it, like, you know, where I felt like, 'Okay, that infringed on the business,' but it was nothing remotely bad that I had to say about Vince, and I took some heat for saying that before," he said.

The World's Strongest Man then fired back at the people who called him insensitive for his comments, as he questioned whether the suffering of other people ''got worse when the money ran out.''
"People were like, ‘You’re being insensitive, and there’s other people that suffered.’ I said, ‘Yeah, but you know, some of those people that y’all are talking about suffering, their suffering got worse when the money ran out. Like, where was the suffering when they were getting BMWs and a million dollars? Did that pacify the suffering? Because if you are suffering, you should suffer all the time, right? Nothing should get in the way of that. I don’t know. I just come from a different time,” he added. [H/T: Wrestling News Co.]
Mark Henry recalls how Vince McMahon wanted to give legends a payday
Several wrestling personalities have taken potshots at the former WWE Chairman following the Janel Grant lawsuit. However, Mark Henry shared a positive story about Vince McMahon during the above-mentioned podcast.
During the interaction, the former AEW star recalled how Vince would invite legends to shows to give them a payday.
“I think about all the times that I was in the office and Mark Carrano would come in. Vince would be like, ‘Hey, how many legends are going to be at this event?’ He would say, ‘There needs to be at least 10 to 15 guys that can get a payday!' 'Call them!” He didn’t have to do that. So when you saw old guys showing up, Baron Von Raschke and people, and Vince handing them $1,500, he didn’t have to do that. He wanted a historical presence on the show, but he also wanted to give them a payday,” he said. [H/T: Wrestling News Co.]
Meanwhile, Mark Henry and his son, Jacob, made an appearance on RAW this past Monday. Notably, Jacob Henry recently signed a deal with the Stamford-based company. It will be interesting to see if Mark makes more appearances on WWE TV in the coming weeks.
