"He's got a lot going on" - Veteran raises concerns about MJF's baffling AEW status (Exclusive)

MJF is one of the top stars in AEW. However, his recent booking has raised concerns with an industry veteran.

MJF is arguably the best heel in professional wrestling at the moment. His ability on the microphone puts him in a league of his own. For the past year, Maxwell has been busy feuding with Adam Cole and the Undisputed Kingdom. After finally defeating Cole at the Worlds End Pay-Per-View, The Devil made his intentions clear that he wanted to regain the AEW World Championship from Jon Moxley.

Bill Apter addressed this on the latest episode of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine with host Mac Davis where he stated that Friedman and the Death Riders are both heels which is confusing and made him wonder how the fans would react to this storyline. He also noted that The Devil is still not done with the Undisputed Kingdom and is now feuding with Death Riders which is putting a lot on his plate.

"MJF is a heel and the Death Riders are heels as well. So, I don't know how the fans are gonna react to this because MJF is not finished with Adam Cole and his group either. There's a lot going on where he's feuding with two groups right now - the Adam Cole's group and the Jon Moxley group. So, he's got a lot going on." [6:00 - 6:30]

Bill Apter also questioned how MJF will get a title shot when there are other challengers in line

Since Jon Moxley won the AEW World Championship, he has become a marked man. There have been a lot of people gunning for a shot at his title. The most recent challengers have been Jay White, Hangman Adam Page, and Orange Cassidy. Additionally, Christian Cage has also been lurking in the shadows and waiting for the right opportunity to cash in his contract for Moxley's title.

the latest to join the chase was Adam Copeland, who has indicated he wants a title shot, and with Powerhouse Hobbs winning the Casino Gauntlet match, that has put him in contention for the title too.

Bill Apter took note of this during the same podcast and questioned how MJF could receive a title shot at this point when there were other challengers like Christian Cage waiting in line.

"What confused me is he is talking about going after the world title now held by Jon Moxley and yet there are three other people hunting for the world title right now. So, I wonder, you know, if MJF is going to get the shot before anyone else at this point." [3:52 - 4:13]

It will be interesting to see if Maxwell Jacob Friedman will be able to regain his AEW World Champion from Jon Moxley.
