A top star who reportedly signed with AEW a few months ago has yet to appear on All Elite Wrestling television. Fans on social media have reacted to Kamille's notable absence.
The former NWA star reportedly had offers from both WWE and AEW however, she has inked a deal with the Jacksonville-based promotion in April according to reports. Kamille also revealed that she had conversations with NXT Head, Shawn Michaels, but seemingly chose to sign with Tony Khan's company.
Kamille is set to compete against Carolina Cruz at Coastal Championship Wrestling: Conquer Kissimmee on August 9 next month. On X (fka Twitter), a fan account mocked the star's decision to ignore NXT to join All Elite Wrestling, where she was not being used, and had to sit at home instead. Meanwhile, other fans claimed that Kamille should have signed with WWE's NXT instead of inking a deal with AEW, as the Jacksonville-based company had damaged her credibility, and a fan even compared her to Dana Brooke.
"Career likely over. Unless she can get out of her contract and go back to NXT. It’s gotta be killer her to she NXT create stars," a fan claimed.
"She looks like Dana Brooke when she first started off just with less aura and shorts," another fan stated.
"Her signed in [aew] was a mistake once she debut no one will know who she is," yet another fan tweeted.
It remains to be seen how the 31-year-old's career shapes up at All Elite Wrestling and whether she is able to make her mark on the promotion any time soon.
Konnan recently revealed that Kamille signed with AEW
Wrestling veteran Konnan stays in contact with many of the young talents in professional wrestling.
Speaking on his Keepin'It 100 podcast, the veteran revealed that he spoke to Kamille several times and that she told her she had signed a contract with All Elite Wrestling and was getting paid by the company, despite not making her mark in the promotion. However, the veteran felt from his most recent conversation with the star that the promotion might finally have something planned for her.
"I talked with her in February because we were gonna bring her down to Mexico for something. She was like, ‘I'm signed to AEW.’ And then she was like then like in March or April when I called her back, she was like, ‘Bro, they haven't answered me.’ I go, ‘Are they paying you?’ She goes, ‘Yeah, but they haven't answered me. I don't know what I'm doing when I'm starting. Nobody's answering me anything.’ And then finally the other day I talked to her again, and she was like…‘Uh, I think they already…' they finally have plans for her," Konnan said. [From 1:44 to 2:16]
