Wrestling fans have shared their reactions to Jinder Mahal teaming up with a top star following his departure from WWE. The 37-year-old talent has been away from the squared circle since April, 2024. This would be Satnam Singh.
The Modern Day Maharaja was released by WWE earlier this year, bringing to an end the star's eight-year tenure in the Stamford-based promotion. Mahal is gearing up to compete in the independent scene, and is set to team with a notable AEW wrestler at an upcoming show.
It was announced by AAA some time ago that Jinder Mahal would be teaming up with All Elite Wrestling star Satnam Singh at TripleMania XXXII in Mexico City, Mexico in August. The duo, set to be accompanied by Jeff Jarrett, will be facing off against the teams of Dr. Wagner Jr./Galeno Del Mal and Psycho Clown/Negro Casas in a triple threat tag match for the AAA Tag Team Championships.
An X/Twitter user recently posted a graphic promoting the upcoming match featuring Raj Dhesi, which is apparently Mahal's new ring-name, and The One in a Billion AEW star.
Reactions from fans soon arose in response to the graphic. Several users voiced their approval of Satnam Singh tagging with Jinder Mahal. Some fans speculated on the former WWE Champion potentially joining AEW as a consequence of his partnership with The Indian Giant. One fan even brought up wanting to see a bout pitting Mahal against HOOK at AEW All In, alluding to the Calgary-native firing a shot at the former FTW Champion earlier this year in response to Tony Khan's comments about him.

Ex-WWE star Jinder Mahal will head to Chicago for a BLP show
In addition to performing on TripleMania XXXII, Jinder Mahal will also make his debut for Black Label Pro on July 26. The Maharaja will make his debut for the promotion at its event dubbed Old Habits Die Screaming, which is scheduled to take place in the Logan Square Auditorium in Chicago, Illinois.
Mahal, under his indie ring-name Raj Dhesi, will be challenging Kevin Ku for the BLP Heavyweight Championship at the event. Ahead of the show, the former WWE US Champion took to X/Twitter to send a message, revealing his intention to deliver a "toxic" heel promo. Mahal's allusion referenced the stereotypical booking wrestlers of international origin have often found themselves running up against, which presents them as villainous figures in North American wrestling promotions.
It remains to be seen how successful a run Jinder Mahal enjoys in the independent pro wrestling circuit.
