An AEW star wished AEW and Tony Khan 'Happy Holidays' as he takes off for a hiatus. The star being discussed is Will Ospreay.
The Aerial Assassin is regarded as one of the hardest-working stars in the promotion. He is known for delivering extraordinary performances every time he enters the squared circle. Despite working in the company for less than a year, he has had multiple classic contests. His performance in the ongoing Continental Classic was also highly praised.
Will Ospreay is heading to his home country of England after a hectic schedule in December. Dynamite was taped earlier today and will be airing on Wednesday. The show will determine who will go into the Continental Classic's semifinals this year. It seems like the star has lost the chance to win the Continental Championship as he already announced his break from the promotion.
The former International Champion greeted every person backstage for the holidays and thanked Tony Khan for his efforts.
"And just like that I’m heading home to my family in England. I wanna take this opportunity to thank everyone in AEW’s crew, production, hair stylists, trainers, doctors, coaches & everyone that works hard behind the curtain to make everyone tick over (...) And lastly thank you so much to @TonyKhan. Your kindness is something that we all love about you. You’ve changed so many people’s life and without you, we all wouldn’t be able to feed our families and provide comfort to them. I flipping love @AEW. Happy holidays guys," he wrote.
ECW veteran claims he doesn't like watching AEW's Will Ospreay
The Aerial Assassin has become a polarising figure since arriving in the promotion due to his unique wrestling style. A veteran recently commented on his high-flying skills.
While speaking with Covalent TV, Sabu stated that he doesn't like Will Ospreay's regularly choreographed moves.
"I like Will Ospreay, I just don't like watching him. He's a great worker and a good gymnast and all that stuff, but (...) his stuff is too choreographed. Backflip over the ropes all the time, that's all gymnast stuff. It's okay. But as a regular thing, no. Would I want to watch that? No, I'd want to see a wrestler [grappler]," he said.
It will be interesting to see when Ospreay returns to action in the Jacksonville-based promotion.
