AEW and NJPW are set to present the Forbidden Door pay-per-view in just a few hours. In addition to All Elite Wrestling and New Japan competitors, tonight's big event will feature stars from CMLL and Stardom. Now a former WWE Superstar is teasing a big angle after his recent controversy.
WWE parted ways with Dijak this past week, in a somewhat controversial fashion. The 11-year veteran is not under a 90-day non-compete clause and is able to work with any promotion. The former RETRIBUTION member made his first appearance as a free agent on Saturday at a Blitzkrieg! Pro event, and now he's teasing a potential AEW debut.
The Tall Don was born in Lunenburg, Massachusetts, and has been billed from nearby Worcester. Tonight's Forbidden Door event is being held in Long Island, NY, which is between 4 and 4.5 hours from the aforementioned areas in Massachusetts. ROH's 2015 Top Prospect took to X (formerly Twitter) with a video this morning to tease a potential step through the forbidden door.
"What a time, what a time, to be alive. Feast Your Eyes because Donovan Dijak is back. Last night at Blitzkrieg! Pro Wrestling in Enfield, Connecticut... hang on a second, just gonna go through this door real quick. It's a beautiful, sunshiny New England day, sun is out, the kids are playing, Donovan Dijak is playing wherever he damn well pleases," Dijak said.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
He continued and said he would show up wherever he wanted and spoke about the 4/4.5 hour drive hinting at an appearance on tonight's pay-per-view event.
"I'm gonna show up wherever I want, whenever I want, and you can Feast Your Eyes on that because that is exactly what the Dijak Hijack is all about. You know what? Today is such a beautiful day, it's early in the morning right now... why don't we go for a nice little drive, huh? Maybe a 4 hour drive, 4.5 hour drive. I think that's exactly what today calls for," Dijak teased in the video below.
Dijak's video was uploaded at 10 am ET, so he had plenty of time to drive to Long Island for the AEW event. WWE's handling of the Dijak situation has led to significant concern within the company.
